Navigating CCUS funding in Canada can be complex, but our Incentives Tool makes it easy!
Numerous financial incentives exist to support the growth and adoption of carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) technologies in Canada. However, navigating the available offerings, eligibilities, submission requirements and application deadlines can be challenging and time-consuming. To address this, the International CCS Knowledge Centre compiled data from nearly 50 federal and provincial government funding sources to create a dynamic Incentives Tool, helping Canadian operators identify, navigate and prioritize funding options for their decarbonization projects.
The Incentives Tool quickly scans a wide range of funding sources to find the best options for your CCUS project right from the start. Operators simply enter a few project-specific details and receive a tailored list of financial incentives, complete with links to each incentive and its eligibility criteria.
Important Notes
The Incentives Tool was developed using current public data as of January 2025 and will be updated on a biannual basis. Although some Canadian decarbonization projects may be eligible for private and/or international funding, the current scope of the Incentives Tool is focused primarily on Canadian governmental sources.
*Please be aware that uptake of one incentive may disqualify your project for others. The Knowledge Centre encourages users of the Incentives Tool to research the eligibility requirements provided in the source links prior to assembling their funding applications.
